Out of Left Field follows a father and son's efforts to connect over a game of catch. However, the son's obsession with his phone gets in the way. This film then follows the son’s inner journey as he realizes the value of being present in the moment with someone who cares about him.

This 3D animated short film serves to combine my love for the 2D cartoons I used to watch as a child, like Looney Tunes, with my expertise in 3D animation. I took inspiration from the works of Chuck Jones and the bold layout designs of Maurice Noble to construct a graphic and cartoony style expressed through the character design to the environmental design. As an animator, I focused on creating believable, but cartoon-inspired, character animation.
